Several area judge-executives support Governor Fletcher's bid for re-election.
The candidates running on the Republican and Democratic tickets for Kentucky governor continue to add up.
Ten area judge-executives have signed and endorsed the candidacy of Governor Fletcher. The judge-executives include those from Allen, Barren, Butler, Simpson and And Warren Counties. The judge-executives cited the following reasons for endorsing the governor: They say he has cut government waste, eliminated unnecessary personnel and saved millions of dollars for the taxpayers of Kentucky.
They also say the governor has kept his word and their endorsement is a direct result of his strong leadership and the outstanding job done by his administration.
The judge-executives also calling for the people of South Central Kentucky to join in his support.
Paducah businessman Billy Harper has filed to run against Fletcher on the Republican ticket and so has former U.S. Representative Anne Northup. Northup officially filed her papers today, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007.
Former Lieutenant Governor Steve Beshear, State Treasurer Jonathan Miller and Harlan businessman Otis Hensley Jr. are running on the Democratic tickets. Several other Democrats, including Jody Richards, have announced plans to run but haven't officially filed yet.
The deadline for candidates to enter the race for governor is January 30.
