Nationwide banks and credit card companies are scrambling to notify their customers to watch for fraudulent activity.
This after TJX companies disclosed thefts of customer data from its computer system. TJX is the parent corporation for T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods and AJ Wright stores.
TJX said hackers broke into a system that handles credit and debit card transactions.
If you feel like you have been a victim of the scam you can call 1-866-484-6978. Officials are also recommending you get a copy of your credit report. Everyone is entitled to a free report every 12 months.
