Trains are moving again over the area where a train derailed this week causing a massive fire south of Louisville, Ky.
The first train traveled over the site of the accident in Bullitt County on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007. The following day officials began working with residents who had been displaced to get them back into their homes. Currently, there are nearly a dozen nearby residents who live close to the crash site are still shut out of their homes.
Meanwhile a lawsuit has been filed against CSX on behalf of seven Bullitt County residents. The residents are accusing the railroad of negligence and failing to warn citizens promptly after the fiery train derailment.
The suit filed in federal court says that many hours lapsed before the plaintiffs learned of the risks to their health and property posed by the incident. CSX officials said there will be a response after the suit is received.
