The nation’s Secretary of Commerce is recognizing one of Bowling Green's biggest exporters.
Monday, Donald Evans presented DESA International with the U.S. Commerce Department's Export Achievement Certificate. The award recognizes companies that are business clients of the Commerce Department's U.S. Commercial Service, and that have used their services to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets.
U.S. Commerce Secretary, Donald Evans, "This is just great to see this wonderful company right here in Bowling Green, Kentucky that are exporting products that are made by the good people here for as far away as Antarctica, and they tell me their exports now represent 10 percent of their sales which is very, very encouraging."
DESA has been operating in Bowling Green since 1969 and employs more than 1,200 in our area.
