In September the Medical Center in Bowling Green announced a 56-million dollar expansion project for the hospital.
The Medical Center filed for a Certificate of Need (CON) for the project which would add more beds and space to the hospital.
Officials at Greenview Regional Hospital filed a request for a hearing to challenge the Medical Center's project.
A CON hearing began today in Frankfort before an administrative law judge where representatives from both hospitals presented information and testimony to support their case.
The judge will release a decision in the next thirty days on whether the Medical Center's CON application will be approved.
