A man accused of dragging his dog by a leash with his truck was in court Tuesday.
Lonnie Douglas pleaded not guilty in the Allen County district court this morning. Douglas faces a cruelty to animals in the second degree charge. It stems from early November when Douglas allegedly drove his truck down the street with his dog tied to the back. Douglas says he hunts the dog and was exercising him.
Former Animal Control Officer, Bob Henry, says he took the dog away after he found it with its flesh torn off.
Lonnie Douglas is scheduled to appear in court in May. Meanwhile, Douglas' neighbor Patrick Dean says he has not seen Douglas "exercising" anymore dogs.
