Sgt. Paul Quast, of the 101st Airborne was in Iraq for almost a year when he was granted a two week leave. This was a surprise for his family because they heard he would be able to come home several times, but he always had to stay.
His return granted a Christmas wish for his eight year old daughter, Ariel. She asked Santa Claus for her dad to return home.
After he returned home, Paul's neighbors gathered for a mini celebration and welcome home party to show their appreciation.
While Paul is happy to be home, his thoughts are still with the rest of his unit in Iraq. He may have to return at the end of December until his tour of duty ends. If he gets to stay, he'll return to Fort Campbell and wait for the rest of his unit to return home.
