The man accused of killing an Austin-Tracy firefighter in a hit-and-run crash last year pleads guilty in Barren Circuit Court

Jorge Rodriguez Pacheco was charged with reckless homicide, tampering with physical evidence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, and failure to report a traffic accident.

Police say he drove the car that hit Lloyd Mabry's motorcycle, killing the 31-year-old on Peter Creek Road in June of 2008.

Barren Commonwealth Attorney Karen Davis told WBKO she dropped the reckless homicide charge, in exchange for Pacheco taking the maximum on the other charges.

Davis says Pacheco is to serve five years in prison, after which he could be deported. His final sentencing is set for September 14.
