A Kentucky State Trooper is on administrative leave tonight, following a shooting that took place over the weekend.
State Police say Trooper Eric Salman was helping the Allen County Sheriff's Office after 3 a.m. Saturday, in serving several drug related arrest warrants in rural Allen County.
State Police tell WBKO three people were arrested at a trailer on Fleet Road. Salman and other law enforcement then attempted to serve an arrest warrant on James E. Snyder, Jr., who was out in the garage.
Police say Snyder raised a loaded .38 caliber revolver at law enforcement, and after ignoring repeated requests to put the revolver down, Trooper Salman fired one shot at Snyder, which hit him in the heart and killed him.
The Todd County Bench Warrant for Snyder contained charges of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and tampering with anhydrous ammonia.
