Randall Creek has been found "competent to stand trial."

The former Simpson County Sheriff's Deputy is facing a murder trial in the shooting death of Debbie Rediess of Smiths Grove last October.

In Warren Circuit Court today, the judge ruled there was no basis for creek to claim insanity.

Warren County Commonwealth Attorney, Chris Cohron, told us Creek's attorney requested a continuance to research a potential change of venue.

He also says the defense is trying to locate an expert witness to see if the steroids Creek was on at the time of the murder, may have contributed to the shooting.
