Kentucky State Supervision

Kentucky State University will be under increased scrutiny from the General Assembly.

The legislature's permanent oversight committee voted Thursday to do a study of the university's administration, including its finances.

Kentucky State has been a scene of periodic turmoil. Regents ousted president George Reid last month. There is a continuing dispute on whether Reid's administration spent money that was supposed to secure the school's land grant program. The state auditor's office had to step in to reconstruct the school's financial records.
