Construction Begins on New Justice Center

Simpson County breaks ground on a new $7.5 million Justice Center. Local dignitaries and state officials were on hand for the ground breaking ceremony.

The new structure will be twice the size of the current courthouse, which was constructed in the late 1800's. The growing number of court cases, lack of handicap accessibility and security concerns, will no longer be a concern in the new facility.

The new Simpson County Justice Center is just one of 35 courthouse projects currently being constructed statewide. The state-funded project is expected to take around 18 months to complete.
