Mental evaluations have been ordered for a Bowling Green couple accused in a child abuse case.
Twenty-four-year-old Leroy Jermaine Sturdivant and 21-year-old Dreva Kirkwood were in court this morning, Friday, Feb. 16, 2007.
The two were arrested earlier this week after Kirkwood’s three-year-old son, was brought to the Medical Center with a severe head injury, broken ribs and bruises all over his body. The child remains at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
This morning Judge Sam Potter ordered the couple be evaluated at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center.
Both remain jailed on $1 million cash bonds. The judge will wait for the results before the case is taken to the grand jury.
