Two people accused of killing and robbing a Western Kentucky social worker could face the death penalty if convicted.
The lead prosecutor in Henderson County tells The Henderson Gleaner, he intends to try the cases against Renee Terrell and Christopher Luttrell as capital crimes.
They’re accused of killing Boni Frederick last October of 2006, after she brought Terrell’s son to the couple’s home for a visit. They were arrested three days later in Illinois after stealing the victim’s jewelry and her car.
A bill named for Frederick, emerged from a house committee yesterday, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, without a commitment for additional state funding.
The measure is aimed at strengthening protections for state social workers.
