Governor Steve Beshear visited Bowling Green today, touting an initiative to educate and mobilize communities behind clean energy and efficiency efforts.

The event is part of a national day to commemorate service and sacrifice throughout the country.

Governor Beshear helped showcase two clean energy corps projects within the Housing Authority of Bowling Green, which are being rehabilitated to make the units more energy efficient.

Beshear noted that energy efficiency can be useful in more ways than one.

Governor Beshear was joined in the event by Bowling Green's own nationally celebrated rap group Nappy Roots, as well as local and federal efforts.
