Kentucky State Police Trooper Tim Adams was standing between a Park City fire department vehicle and a guardrail Saturday evening, attempting to gather information from the driver who was seated inside the emergency vehicle.
A northbound tractor-trailer saw the collision and attempted to slow down but struck the emergency vehicle.
Trooper Adams jumped the guardrail to avoid being struck but his left foot became pinned under the right front passenger-side tire of the tractor-trailer.
After being removed from under the wreckage, Trooper Adams was taken to T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow where he is now in fair condition.
Trooper Adams did suffer a broken leg and bruised ankle
