Kentucky State Police say a car driven by Rodney Wells of Nashville, Tennessee was traveling Northbound on I-65 when it began to slow down for traffic that was stopped northbound for another accident.

A semi, driven by Richard Knapp II of Canton, Ohio was unable to stop in time and struck Wells's car in the rear.

The collision started a multi vehicle accident involving three tractor-trailers and three passenger vehicles.

The driver of the first car, Rodney Wells and passenger Gwendolyn Mccullough, were taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

The driver of one of the other cars involved in the crash, Peggy Brown of Radcliff, Ky, was flown by Stat Care to the University of Louisville Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
