Chamber Finds Parking

Bowling Green and the Chamber of Commerce have come to an agreement about where to put the Chamber’s new parking lot.

The city has agreed to give the Chamber an additional $50,000 to build a parking lot, alley and park of the “heritage trail,” next door to the Chamber.

The Downtown Redevelopment Authority had wanted to put the parking lot on College Street where Kirtley’s Furniture currently resides.

DRA’s Cheryl Blaine said at first they were skeptical about the new location.

“Our only concern was, would we be able to get a developer to come out and do mixed-use development since we really want housing, retail, and office space around Circus Square,” Blaine said.

She said now everyone is excited about the new spot. The project is expected to go up for bid next week.
