Area residents teamed up tonight with Community Education center to "bee" named the best spellers in the South Central Kentucky.
Tuesday night, Feb. 27, 2007, over 15 teams competed in the 2nd Annual Spell-A-Bration. The adult-aged spelling bee was hosted by Community Education and Hill's Pet Nutrition. Hills official Drew Stallman said the spelling bee brought out the kid in all of the teams.
"Its a good competitive event. Adults learned how to spell at a very young age and it gives them a chance to revisit something they learned in school and compete in a very friendly manner," Stallman said.
Proceeds from the Spell-A-Bration, a silent auction and reception held earlier in the night will go to the help adult and child education through the Community Education program.
The DELO Characters from Western Kentucky University took home the trophy as the first place winners.
