Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, was Spay Day USA and many local veterinarians are offering low-cost spay and neuters.
Animal lovers have dedicated the month of February to spay and neuter awareness. An estimated five million cats and dogs are killed in shelters each year, that’s one every six seconds.
Veterinarians in our area say too many animals go unwanted and limiting the population by spaying and neutering will mean fewer animals that are put to sleep.
