"One of the last great person-to-person politicians," former Gov. Louie B. Nunn was laid to rest in his hometown of Park on Tuesday afternoon.
At a memorial service in his adopted hometown of Glasgow, family, friends, and political leaders from both sides of the aisle remembered the Governor as a passionate politician, caring towards his constituents, firm in his beliefs, and willing to fly in the face of conventional wisdom to do what he thought was right.
Hundreds of supporters and friends drove to Cosby Cemetery in Hart County to pay their final respects. Citizens along the funeral processions route were seen getting out of their cars to salute the South Central Kentucky native's final trip.
Nunn's political legacy continues with his son Steve, a Republican State Representative from Glasgow, and the political advice the former governor gave to candidates across the state.
