Former Simpson County Sheriff Joe Palma is facing up to a possible 20 years in prison.
A Simpson County grand jury has indicted Palma on eleven counts of a class-D felony, including three counts of theft by unlawful taking and eight counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
Palma's former deputy, Monica Thacker, also faces two counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
The cases are expected to be scheduled for arraignment of March 1.
