Auburn Hosiery Mills Cuts 200 Jobs

Two hundred people in Logan County are about to be out of a job. Auburn Hosiery Mills is eliminating all manufacturing operations at its Auburn and Adairville facilities.

Auburn Hosier Mills is a marketer of casual and sport socks, which it offers under its flagship licensed brands, Wilson and Converse.

A press release from the company cites increasing competition from imports and higher operating costs as the reason for the loss of jobs.

Vice President Tom Maurer says the cuts are affective April 30. One hundred sixty jobs will be lost in Adairville and 40 in Auburn.
