A three-car collision in Barren County claims the life of one of the drivers involved.
The accident happened around 11:30 this morning at the 2900 block of Burkesville Road, also known as Highway 90 East.
A 1983 Chevy Pickup driven by 51-year-old Stephen Meadows, of Glasgow jack-knifed, causing the trailer to swing around and hit a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by 61-year old Helen Matthews of Glasgow that was traveling eastbound at which time the car caught fire, which was quickly extinguished by a passer-by.
The ditch witch then flew off the trailer going over the car, striking a 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer driven by Robert Greer, 64, of Gamaliel that was eastbound behind Matthews.
Matthews was critically injured and had to be extricated from her car, she was taken to TJ Samson Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meadows and Greer were not injured.
All involved were belted at the time of the crash.
