In all the job fields, Kentucky's professional and business sectors showed the largest growth adding 6,200 jobs. Government and public education added 3,700 jobs, and leisure and hospitality increased by 3,300 positions. Financial activities also posted a gain of 2,700 jobs. The state's biggest decrease came in construction where 900 jobs were lost.
Kentucky joins 42 other states and the District of Columbia in a national trend of job growth.
