Western Kentucky University is making some important game-day changes, but don't worry!
Burgers, bags and all the tailgating essentials will stay the same.
Beginning Saturday, October 10th, vehicles will no longer be allowed on tailgating lawns around campus.
The home game hosting Florida International marks the beginning of the new rules.
More fans mean more vehicles, which cause damage to trees, landscaping and sidewalks.
So the university is asking its football faithful to keep the cars off the grass.
"If you follow the whole concept of tailgating, and the traditions that surround tailgating on major campuses, it actually is an event that takes place on the parking lot," explains Howard Bailey, the Vice President for WKU Student Affairs.
Bailey stresses the university isn't trying to get rid of tailgaters, only to lessen the damage caused by them.
See the attached map WKU has designated for tailgating areas, including parking lots for the 2009-2010 season.
