A plea agreement appears to be in the works for a man once convicted of murdering a Warren County woman.
In 1996, Riccardo Vettraino was found guilty of shooting John Speakman and killing his wife, Julie Speakman but the Kentucky Court of Appeals overturned Vettraino's conviction when it was learned there was a weapon in the House that had not been mentioned in the first trial.
Vettraino was awarded a new trial but after twice postponing his pretrial conference, Vettraino's attorney and Warren commonwealth attorney, Chris Cohron, are now hammering out a possible plea agreement.
We expect to have details of that plea agreement Tuesday, March 6, 2007.
