About 200 concerned Warren County residents packed the gym at Briarwood Elementary Monday night. Most of them wanted to persuade the Warren County school board to support the Council for Better Education. The council is suing the state claiming that state lawmakers are not providing adequate funding for Kentucky's schools.
Originally in January the board voted not to support the council or lawsuit but after several parents, teachers, and students spoke out the decision was reversed. The board will be named in the lawsuit along with 100 some other school districts. They will also pay $5,300 in dues.
