As a youth umpire for more than 30 years, Brenda Petty has made a difference in the lives of many children. But after becoming Recreation Supervisor for Warren County's Parks and Recreation Department, she's made a considerable difference in the program itself.

Brenda works countless hours to provide the youth of Warren County with the opportunity to participate in sports. Currently, Warren County Parks and Rec. has between 300 to 350 baseball and softball teams. Before her arrival there were 24 softball teams, today the program has nearly 90 teams.

While she deals primarily with female softball teams, Petty also has a hand in the organization of basketball and volleyball teams. Petty often travels across the state when her teams are participating in games elsewhere. Parents say she's an excellent mentor for children and coaches.

Petty is also responsible for the introduction of a new volleyball program, which begins in August.
