A Fort Knox general will be the new deputy commanding general at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Military officials said that Brig. Gen. Michael Tucker will be part of a new group of leaders for the Medical Center. Tucker will join Maj. Gen. Eric Schoolmaker, the new Walter Reed Commanding General, to steer changes in patient care.
Recently Walter Reed has been under scrutiny for poor conditions. Tucker has been the deputy commander at Fort Knox since July 2006.
Meanwhile, the scandal at Walter Reed Army Hospital has claimed another high-ranking official.
The surgeon general, Lt. Gen. Kevin Kiley, of the Army has been forced to retire while the Pentagon tries to clean up the problem.
