He's running for a U.S. Senate seat in 2010, and the latest fundraising numbers show he's raised more than $1-million completely surpassing other major candidates.
We spoke with Bowling Green eye doctor, Rand Paul, and found out his campaign is a family affair.
"We've been a lot of places," said Paul. "I think we've been over 35 counties now."
Being on the campaign trail means the family is highly involved, and Rand and Kelley Paul's three sons do not mind sticking right by their dad.
"The kids had a really fun time with their grandfather's campaign, and they're just now really starting to get involved with this one," said Kelley, Paul's Wife.
Getting involved means traveling and knocking on doors, plus introducing their dad in front of large crowds and even playing songs to support his campaign.
"Yesterday I got to do two introductions for my dad giving the speech," said Robert, Paul's 10-year-old son.
"Just traveling around, and just helping out whenever we can," said William, Paul's 16-year-old son. "Passing out pamphlets, banners, stickers."
"When we get the bus in the spring, our cousins are going to come up, and we're all going to bring our guitars and maybe do a couple of songs with them," said Duncan, Paul's 13-year-old son.
And of course the campaign trail brings fun memories like the family's RV trip to Fancy Farm, the political picnic.
"It was our first RV experience, which the younger kids liked," said Kelley. "Unfortunately we didn't know there weren't any water hookups, and so we didn't have the tank filled."
It's memories the family says they're excited to share.
"We all traveled as a family up to New Hampshire and knocked on doors for my dad," said Paul. "When I was eleven I knocked on doors for my dad, and now my youngest is ten and a half. I think they're excited by the interaction, and just the excitement of being out there try to decide which way our country goes."
As far as raising over $1-million, Paul says he feels it now gives them the credibility to talk about the issues and help change the country.
