Commandment Monument Controversy

A ten commandment monument may not go up on the Capitol grounds unless the U.S. Supreme Court said its okay.

Executive director of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet said a search continues for ways of offering additional monuments or displays that could be in a grouping with the commandments.

Last year the General Assembly passed a bill that would return a ten commandments to the Capitol grounds but for now the monument remains in Hopkinsville. If the monument is allowed, it would include its history and legal battles.
