Jailers and other county officials from across the state are meeting to discuss problems and areas of concern facing many of Kentucky's jails.
The conference is called "The Jail as Part of County Government". The three-day conference is put on by the National Institute of Corrections and has drawn a crowd of more than 60 jailers and other officials from all over the state.
Over the course of the conference, jailers will be working to find solutions to common issues of concern, like staffing, keys to effective jail operations and funding.
The conference will continue through Thursday afternoon at the Sloan Convention Center.
