Grant to Help Bring Health Programs to Hispanic Community

Kentucky's Senior Senator paid a visit to Bowling Green Wednesday.

Republican Mitch McConnell was in town to present a check to Western Kentucky University and the "South-central Kentucky Area Health Education Center" for the Hispanic Resource Center.

The Center's mission is to help Hispanics become integrated into American society while still preserving their heritage and culture.

And this $700,000 grant will go a long way towards doing just that.

The money will be used to start a number of health and medical programs in this and other areas in the region, including CPR training in Spanish, health screenings, child passenger safety, AIDS education and screening, and disease prevention.
