A Ft. Campbell soldier convicted of negligent homicide in the deaths of three Iraqi detainees said he knows he made a mistake in lying about the killings.
During the sentencing phase of his trial today, March 19, 2007, 24-year-old Staff Sergeant Ray Girouard said there’s a fine line between loyalty and truth.
Girouard was found guilty Friday, March 16, 2007, of three counts of negligent homicide. He avoided a life sentence but still faces up to 21 years in prison.
