Franklin Man Killed in Shooting

Franklin police are investigating a shooting death from over the weekend.

Simpson County Coroner, Gary Crafton, said 48-year-old Robert "Spanky" Partinger was shot last Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 10:15 a.m. He died in the Medical Center at Franklin at 12:25 p.m., the same day.

The autopsy shows Partinger was shot once in the face with a .357 magnum handgun at his home at 607 Brevard Street. Crafton said Partinger's wife, Delores, was with Partinger when he was shot and made the 911 call to report the shooting.

Franklin police continue to investigate Partinger's death.
