The Kentucky Speaker of the House said his hometown is the heart of his campaign for governor. Jody Richards announced the opening of his local campaign office.
This office is his third office; the other two are in Louisville and Frankfort. At the opening, Speaker Richards also talked about initiatives in education, fuel and the cost of health insurance.
Richards said he believes education will lead to high tech business and development.
“Look at our research and development center out at Western. With 17, 18, 19 high tech businesses that’s the wave of the future and we can do it right here in this town and across the state,” Speaker Richards said.
Speaker Richards plans on focusing on teachers salaries as well as helping students seek higher education. He also stressed the importance of alternative fuels and said Kentucky is leading the nation in the search for these fuels.
