Construction on the Hart County Judicial Center is under way. Today, March 20, 2007, a ground breaking was held for the new center.
The old courthouse was built back in 1928. It has been renovated several times in an attempt to keep up with the times, but problems with the sewer system led the Kentucky General Assembly to approve this new facility two years ago.
The new judicial center will cost around $11 million. There will be increased security, more space courtrooms, offices and parking.
The new center is expected to be completed by March 2008.
