State lawmakers only have a few more days left in the general assembly before recess begins. Leaders have several topics including the budget they must determine in that time, though.
Governor Fletcher spoke at the Bowling Green Rotary Club meeting Wednesday afternoon. He addressed the need for the Senate and House to come together to pass his tax modernization plan he introduced last week, a plan, he says, that will raise taxes in some areas but help generate more revenue with more jobs.
Fletcher says partisan politics have caused problems in Frankfort. Leaders of the Democrat controlled house and Republican Senate are optimistic a budget will be passed before the General Assembly adjourns.
