Potter Gray Elementary is handsomely rewarded for their contributions to the Family Enrichment Center today, Monday, March 26, 2007.
Potter Gray collected their spare change and raised over $3,500 for the Buckets of Hope Fundraiser that benefits the Family Enrichment Center.
“I think it’s important for kids to realize to give back to the community and important it is to raise awareness about issues going on,” said Heidi Brandon, with Family Resource of Potter Gray Elementary.
Bruster’s Ice Cream treated the students to an ice cream party and owner Stuart Kirby said there is an important lesson to be learned from fundraisers like this one.
“Telling them what a good job they did, motivating them and showing them that they can do anything they want to do ... Something they dream of doing and motivates them the rest of their life and hopefully they will take that with them and be successful,” Kirby said.
Bowling Green Junior High finished in second place raising just over $2,500 and Briarwood Elementary came in third place raising just under $2,500.
