A woman looking for a new puppy is shocked at what she found at a house in Scottsville. The house has had complaints in the past, and now, authorities are questioning the owners again. The house has a terrible stench and Allen County Sheriff's Deputies were concerned enough to get a search warrant.

Thelma Williams is a pet lover. She says, "I have six dogs, four cats, three outside dogs. I have chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guineas. As you can tell, I have a petting zoo."

Williams loves animals, but what she encountered at this house was more than she could take.

Williams says, "The smell was terrible. It was a terrible smell."

WBKO asked the owner about the conditions:

Ashley Davidson: "What kind of animals do you have here?

Owner:" I'm not telling that, and there's no further comment."

This isn't the first time authorities have come to 118 East Oak Street for complaints of animal neglect or cruelty.

Officer Danny Davis with Allen County Sheriff's Department came to investigate the complaint.

Davis: "We don't have probable cause to press charges. Were not looking to press charges unless it warrants that. We have had a complaint so we'll have to get a search warrant.”

Owner:" I've got 49."

Davis: "49?"

Forty-nine dogs all living at the house. What's more, we're told, in the past there have been over 100.

Davis: "Is there any reason to complain? "

Owner:" Well they bark when they're hungry, of course, they're gonna bark when they're hungry."

But for animal lovers like Thelma Williams the situation needs to be resolved.

Williams says, "Anyone that can't take care of an animal doesn't need to have an animal."
