Several Groups Call for a Special Session to Discuss the State's Retirement System

Several groups across the Commonwealth call on legislators to hold a special session.

The Coalition for Sustainable Benefits has urged Governor Fletcher and lawmakers to begin immediately working towards a special session to overhaul the states retirement system.

The Kentucky Public Pension Coalition is urging interested parties to study the issue during the next nine months and consider it during the 2008 general assembly.

The regular legislative session ended March 27, 2008, with no agreement between the Senate and House on the pension system.
