The future of an area elementary school is decided.
School officials failed to contact WBKO, but Kelly Crowder, a parent from Horse Branch Elementary in Ohio County, told WBKO that the board of education voted to keep the school open. She also said the vote was three to two.
The future of the school was in jeopardy due to an aging septic system. The age and amount of waste is causing an environmental hazard. Earlier the superintendent told WBKO that the school board had two options: to purchase a new system or to close the school.
