Fletcher May Wait to Call Session

It may be more than two months before Governor Fletcher calls the Kentucky General Assembly to meet in special session. Fletcher said they could wait until after the May 22nd primary.

The legislature adjourned last week with several major bills still in need of attention. They include a reform of the state’s pension system and money for projects at state universities.

Fletcher said Friday, March 30 , 2007, he was still undecided about a special session nor has he determined what will be on the agenda.

Under law, only the governor can set the agenda for the legislative session.
