Myspace Sex Offender Law

Kentucky will soon have the toughest law in the nation when it comes to sex offenders using so-called social sites on the Internet.

Attorney General Greg Stumbo hosted a press conference on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, to highlight Kentucky's new law requiring the state's registered sex offenders to register their electronic mail address and any instant messaging, chat, or Internet communication identities.

Attorney General Stumbo said too many predators are ready and waiting to victimize Kentucky's innocent children online.

At Tuesday's event, chief security officer for Myspace spoke of the importance of partnering with states in enforcing restrictions for sex offenders.
