Some area non-profit organizations are a little richer as of Wednesday, April 4, 2007.
The Bowling Green-Warren County Community Foundation gave $25,000 in grants to 14 organizations. The checks were presented by foundation president Barry Williams.
Recipients included the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, Capitol Arts Alliance, Girls-Incorporated, Bowling Green Technical College, Hope harbor and Friends of the L&N Depot.
The grant money comes at a good time for non-profits.
“The Community Foundation is just thrilled that we’re able to do this. We have so many wonderful charities and with recent funding cuts that they’re all facing, we’re so happy we can distribute this amount of money to 14 wonderful organizations here this year,” Beth Burt said, with the BG-WC Community Foundation.
Local business and civic leaders make up the Community Foundation, which is dedicated to giving grants in the area of education, health, human services, arts and public recreation.
