Governor Fletcher signs legislation that may clear the way for minor league baseball to come to Bowling Green.
The governor was in Louisville and Newport, Ky., on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, for ceremonial signings of House Bill 549.
The legislation expands and restructures tax increment financing tools for use by state and local governments.
Play Ball Committee member, Rick Kelly told Bowling Green city commissioners on Tuesday night, that with the TIF legislation in place, minor league baseball could become a reality in Bowling Green.
New Hampshire Fishercats team owner, Art Solomon said he is committed to bringing a team to Bowling Green and signing a twenty-year-lease on the proposed stadium.
He’s asking the city for a commitment by the end of the month.
