It was great weekend to be a Purple, a junior high Purple that is; as they brought home three state championships.

Bowling Green Junior High held a pep rally Monday to celebrate winning three different state championships this weekend.

The girls cross country team and the cheerleaders had already won Sunday night.

The football team finished its undefeated season by beating Anderson County 34-6 in the state championship.

"We talked about it the whole year to take one game at a time. These young men did everything we asked, couldn't be prouder of them, and we really look forward to see what the can do at the high school, I think the future looks bright up there," said BGJHS Football Coach Joel Taylor.

The eighth grade Purple football team will be moving on to high school with a combined 23-0 record, while the girls cross country team won it's second straight state title.
