A Bowling Green man remains behind bars, accused of setting his girlfriend on fire.
Police say Ronald Hibbitt, 26, and his girlfriend Charlie C. Pratt were involved in a domestic dispute Thursday afternoon, when Pratt decided to leave Hibbitt's parents' house, and take her children with her. While Pratt began packing up her children's clothes, police believe Hibbitt grabbed a can of gas and doused Pratt with it, then set her on fire.
Pratt ran to the shower, police say, extinguished the flames, and then was driven to Greenview Regional Hospital by her boyfriend. Hibbitt then left, and Pratt was taken to Vanderbilt University Hospital's burn unit, where she remains in stable condition.
Police arrested Hibbitt on Friday and are charging him with first -degree domestic assault. Hibbitt remains in the Warren Co. Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
