Two El Paso, Texas, men stopped in Kentucky are indicted on charges of conspiracy, aiding and abetting and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Francisco Delacruz and Humberto Contreras were stopped by a Kentucky vehicle enforcement officer on I-65 for speeding in a work zone last week. The two men were facing federal drug charges after officers seized more than 100 pounds of cocaine worth more than $1.5 million.
The seizure was the second-largest from a traffic stop in Kentucky and the largest by state vehicle enforcement.
Both men face up to life in prison and $8 million in fines.
